Criminal Defense Firm
Takes On New Identity
Dallas’ Tom Mills & Associates Officially Becomes Mills & Williams
(Dallas) Tom Mills & Associates, L.L.P., a law firm devoted exclusively
to complex criminal defense litigation, has formally changed its name to
Mills & Williams, L.L.P., to reflect the contributions of managing
partner Christie N. Williams.
Ms. Williams, who joined the firm in 1999, has developed a statewide
reputation as an accomplished trial attorney with lead counsel
experience in federal and state criminal cases. That reputation helped
earn her a spot on D Magazine’s 2002 list of Best Lawyers Under 40. It
also helped simplify name partner Thomas Mills’ decision on the firm’s
new name.
“Christie is a remarkably talented and driven attorney whom I am proud
to practice with,” he says. “When I looked over what she has
accomplished and what she means to this firm, making her a name partner
was an obvious choice.”
Board certified in criminal law by the Texas Board of Legal
Specialization, Ms. Williams’ recent noteworthy representations include
an acquittal in an EPA defense involving allegations of lab fraud, a
local taxi company charged with bribery, and the alleged killer of
Madalyn Murray O’Hair.
Prior to joining Mills & Williams, she served for six years as a Dallas
County Assistant DA and two years in the Public Integrity Division
prosecuting crimes relating to the public trust. She also served as the
legislative liaison for the DA’s office during the 1999 legislative
session, testifying before House and Senate committees and drafting
legislation relating to criminal law.
Devoted exclusively to complex criminal defense litigation, Mills &
Williams L.L.P. is a law firm focused on helping its clients navigate
the criminal justice system. The firm’s website can be found at
www.millsandwilliams.com.
