Williams Among ‘Best Dallas Lawyers Under 40’
Mills & Williams Partner Named to D Magazine List

(Dallas) Christie Williams, managing partner of Mills & Williams L.L.P., was among those selected to D Magazine’s “Best Dallas Lawyers Under 40” list. The full list was published in the publication’s May 2002 issue.

The selection, according to the magazine, was based on the nominations of 5,000 area attorneys who were asked, "Which Dallas lawyers under 40, of those whose work you have witnessed first-hand, would you rank among the current best?"

News of the honor came as no surprise to Mills & Williams partner Tom Mills.

“That they are ‘Under 40’ is some arbitrary designation they put on these attorneys to set them apart from presumably more experienced attorneys,” Mills says. “But in Christie’s case it was unnecessary. She is an attorney who would be a legitimate selection for any ‘Best Of’ list, regardless of age.”

With lead counsel experience in federal and state criminal cases, Williams has developed a statewide reputation as an accomplished trial attorney. A few recent noteworthy representations include an acquittal in an EPA defense involving allegations of lab fraud involving Air Force environmental records, a local taxi company facing federal bribery and conspiracy charges, and the alleged killer of Madalyn Murray O’Hair.

Prior to joining Mills & Williams, she served for six years as a Dallas County Assistant District Attorney and two years in the Public Integrity Division prosecuting crimes relating to the public trust. She also served as the legislative liaison for the DA’s office during the 1999 legislative session, testifying before House and Senate committees and drafting legislation relating to criminal law.

In addition to her legal practice, Williams frequently appears in the news media as a legal expert, serving as an on-air analyst for numerous media outlets including Court-TV, KXAS-TV Channel 5, KLIF 570 AM and KRLD 1080 AM.

Williams is board certified in criminal law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
