Christie N. Williams

Ms. Williams joined forces with Tom Mills in November 1999, after six years as an
Assistant Criminal District Attorney in Dallas County. Ms. Williams has
extensive trial experience, having tried over 100 criminal trials,
including first chair experience in a wide variety of criminal cases in
State and Federal Court. She has used that experience to establish
herself as one of Texas’ premier trial lawyers. In 2003 and again in
2005, the National
Law Journal named her to their “Top 40 Under 40” list, recognizing the
best young litigators in the United States. Texas Monthly twice named
Ms. Williams a “Texas Super Lawyer”, and D Magazine also identified her
as a “Top Lawyer Under 40”.
During her tenure as an Assistant Criminal District Attorney, Ms.
Williams spent two years in the Public Integrity Division investigating
and prosecuting crimes relating to the public trust, then created a new
division that investigated cases involving election fraud. After
returning to felony trial court, Ms. Williams served as the legislative
liaison for the District Attorney’s office during the 1999 legislative
session, testifying before House and Senate committees and drafting
legislation relating to criminal law.
Some of Ms. Williams recent court victories include:

Government contractor accused of bribing a United States Congressman –
acquitted in federal court in Cleveland, Ohio;

Conspiracy to manufacture over 1000 marijuana plants – acquitted;
- EPA defense involving Air Force environmental records – acquitted on
all counts;
- 16 year old certified to stand trial in adult court
charged with aggravated robbery – dismissed;
- Local taxicab
corporation charged in 65 count federal bribery and conspiracy
indictment – dismissed.
In addition to her legal practice, Ms. Williams frequently appears in
the news media as a legal expert, serving as an on-air analyst for
numerous media outlets including Court-TV, KXAS-TV Channel 5, KLIF 570
AM, and KRLD 1080 AM.
Ms. Williams graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree
from Southern Nazarene University in 1989 and received her Juris Doctor
degree in 1992 from the University of Texas School of Law. During law
school, she was a law clerk for two years for the Travis County District
Attorney’s office.
Ms. Williams currently serves on the Board of Directors of the
National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and is a former chair
of the Criminal Justice Committee for the Dallas Bar Association.
She is a member of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyer’s Association, as
well as both the Dallas and Austin Criminal Defense Lawyer’s
Associations. Ms. Williams is board certified in criminal law by the Texas
Board of Legal Specialization.
