Christie N. Williams

Ms. Williams joined forces with Tom Mills in November 1999, after six years as an Assistant Criminal District Attorney in Dallas County. Ms. Williams has extensive trial experience, having tried over 100 criminal trials, including first chair experience in a wide variety of criminal cases in State and Federal Court. She has used that experience to establish herself as one of Texas’ premier trial lawyers. In 2003 and again in 2005, the National Law Journal named her to their “Top 40 Under 40” list, recognizing the best young litigators in the United States. Texas Monthly twice named Ms. Williams a “Texas Super Lawyer”, and D Magazine also identified her as a “Top Lawyer Under 40”.

During her tenure as an Assistant Criminal District Attorney, Ms. Williams spent two years in the Public Integrity Division investigating and prosecuting crimes relating to the public trust, then created a new division that investigated cases involving election fraud. After returning to felony trial court, Ms. Williams served as the legislative liaison for the District Attorney’s office during the 1999 legislative session, testifying before House and Senate committees and drafting legislation relating to criminal law.

Some of Ms. Williams recent court victories include:
  • Government contractor accused of bribing a United States Congressman – acquitted in federal court in Cleveland, Ohio;
  • Conspiracy to manufacture over 1000 marijuana plants – acquitted;
  • EPA defense involving Air Force environmental records – acquitted on all counts;
  • 16 year old certified to stand trial in adult court charged with aggravated robbery – dismissed;
  • Local taxicab corporation charged in 65 count federal bribery and conspiracy indictment – dismissed.

In addition to her legal practice, Ms. Williams frequently appears in the news media as a legal expert, serving as an on-air analyst for numerous media outlets including Court-TV, KXAS-TV Channel 5, KLIF 570 AM, and KRLD 1080 AM.

Ms. Williams graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Southern Nazarene University in 1989 and received her Juris Doctor degree in 1992 from the University of Texas School of Law. During law school, she was a law clerk for two years for the Travis County District Attorney’s office.
